Managing Partner
Elizabeth Hambrecht
Elizabeth Hambrecht is Managing Partner at Hambrecht Ventures, and has worked with her father, Bill Hambrecht, for the past decade. Prior to joining WR Hambrecht+Co, Ms. Hambrecht was CEO at Salon Media, which operates the popular Salon.com website. Before Salon, Ms. Hambrecht was co-founder of Asiacontent.com, a pioneer in Asia’s Internet industry, and helped fund and launch Boom.com, Hong Kong’s first electronic brokerage. Prior to Boom.com, Ms. Hambrecht was an equities analyst covering emerging markets at Goldman Sachs. She currently sits on the board of directors of Tasso Inc., Proov, and Golden.

Bill Hambrecht
Bill Hambrecht is a Partner at Hambrecht Ventures, Founder of WR Hambrecht+Co and Co-Founder of Hambrecht & Quist. He has overseen investments in nearly 700 companies. Examples of Mr. Hambrecht’s venture capital and IPO transactions include Apple, Amazon, Adobe, Genentech, Google, Intel, Interactive Brokers, McAfee, Morningstar, Netscape, Nvidia, Pixar and Salesforce.com. Mr. Hambrecht has served on the boards of directors of firms including Motorola and AOL, and currently is a member of the board of directors at Buoy Health and PatientsLikeMe.

Thomas Thurston
Thomas Thurston is a Partner at Hambrecht Ventures who joined the team in 2008. A renowned data scientist, he created the MESETM computing system and manages its eight person data science team to give Hambrecht Ventures unique insights into private businesses and markets. Prior to Hambrecht Ventures, Mr. Thurston was at Intel, helped found a high-performance computing business that was acquired and led a joint research program at the Harvard Business School with Professor Clayton Christensen on the use of data science to guide venture capital and innovation efforts.
Partner, Operations and Human Resources
Veronica Bryan
Veronica has held various HR and operations roles at WR Hambrecht + Co since 1999. In these roles, she has supported Hambrecht Capital and Hambrecht Ventures, as well as performed HR roles in portfolio companies such as Salon Media and the United Football League. Prior to her role at Hambrecht, she was AVP at Bank of America for 9 years.

Gene Yates
Gene has over 25 years of experience as a senior finance executive for financial services companies. Gene has been CFO of WR Hambrecht + Co since 2014. Prior to joining WRH+Co, Gene spent 5 years at Wells Fargo Securities, serving as Chief FInancial Officer. Prior to Wells Fargo Securities, Gene spent eight years at Charles Schwab in roles that included VP Controller, Fixed Income Finance and Director Regulatory Reporting. Gene has a BS in Accounting & Finance from University of Southern California.

John Hullar
John was Managing Partner at WRH+Co from 2013 to 2018. Prior to joining WRH+Co, John spent 11 years at Wells Fargo Securities, serving as President and Chief Executive Officer, and, most recently as Managing Director, Western Region. Before joining Wells Fargo Securities, John was Director of Worldwide Sales at H&Q, where he oversaw all aspects of U.S. and International Institutional Sales and Accounts, Executive Financial Services and Venture Services Sales. He was also a member of the Operating Committee, Brokerage Committee, and Equity Commitment Committee. Prior to joining H&Q, John was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley where he held leadership positions in Institutional Equities in New York, Tokyo, and London. John holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Yale University. He was a member of the Yale University Development Board; a Trustee and Chair of Finance at The Hamlin School and The Branson School; and a Trustee of The First Tee Chapter of San Francisco.

Lee Ting
Lee is a retired executive of Hewlett Packard, where he worked for more than 31 years in a number of positions in the US and Asia. His last position was Corporate Vice President and Managing Director of Geographic Operations, responsible for HP’s operations in more than 120 countries. Since 2001, Lee has been a Partner at Hambrecht Ventures Funds 1 and 2 focused on investments in early-stage technology and bioscience companies in the US and China. Lee is a board member of Omnitura Therapeutics, Inc; former board director of NeoPhotonics, Microelectronics Technology, Inc. and Lenovo; He also has served on a number of private company boards including YeePay, NeuroSky, Autekbio, and Genyous Biomed. Lee obtained his BS in Electrical Engineering at Oregon State University and has completed the Stanford Executive Program.
